The finished Coffee and Lace cake; the teacup was filled with mocha whipped cream and ganache, with a white chocolate "20" steam.

On the whole, I do think the flavor outshone the decoration moment, but it was fun nonetheless.

The unfilled cup version is here [link]

The cup was made by lining the inside of a soup ladle with foil, and then filling a piping bag with melted candy-chocolate (which hardens as it cools). Piped the chocolate designs all over the foil, making sure everything overlapped and connected; let it cool, then lift the foil out, and gently peel the foil away from the chocolate. Voila: chocolate cup.

For this one, it's the Mocha Whipped Cream Truffle Cake, from Elinor Klivans "Chocolate CAkes: 50 Great Cakes for Every Occasion." [link]
